L'Isola

The island's serious Italian — handmade pasta, deep wine list, and the dining room where deals and birthdays happen.

€€€€

L'Isola is Gustavia's Italian institution: handmade pasta, a wine list with real Barolo depth, and a dining room that hosts more celebrations and quiet deals per square metre than anywhere on island. The truffle programme in winter season is genuine. It is an indoor, tablecloth restaurant — no view, no beach — which is exactly the point: this is dinner as main event. Among the hardest tables to get in February; the bar seats save spontaneous evenings.

Must try

Tagliolini al tartufo (in season), veal milanese
